Thank you for your trust!

Your trust in the worldwide work of DMG is the basis of our cooperative partnership in matters of mission. For decades we have adhered to the principles of Ev. Alliance and AEM on handling addresses. They state that we "neither buy, sell, rent, nor exchange friends' addresses with others". For us, careful handling of your data is a matter of course. The EU General Data Protection Regulation changes a few things. Here are some informations for you:

when you donate
data regarding the donation process is recorded and stored in the DMG headquarters. Missionaries to whom you have donated will be informed - technically secured - so that they can thank you. If you would like a donation receipt, we need your postal address.

DMG-Magazin
Donors and interested parties are offered the opportunity to order DMG-Magazin free of charge in order to keep up to date with Mission. For shipping, we pass on your address to external service providers. They are contractually obliged to handle it with care and only use it for postal delivery to you.

Events, camps, seminars
We require certain personal data from helpers, employees and participants so that we can carry out our events in accordance with government regulations and manage them well. Anyone who stays overnight as a guest at DMG gives us personal data so that we can organize room occupancy and handle their stay commercially.

We initially process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfill the contract and as long as there are statutory retention requirements. And as long as you receive information from us and do not object. You have the right to get information about your data stored by DMG at any time and can have it corrected, blocked or deleted (insofar as this does not contradict legal requirements). We are happy to be in contact with you and build on a good partnership in the years to come.

Privacy Policy

We at DMG, a Christian mission and relief organization, are grateful for your interest in the worldwide work of our 350 missionaries and that you inform yourself here on our website about these Christian services. The protection of your personal data is very important to us. Therefore, we would like to explain all the important issues regarding our data protection and data processing.

Our Internet pages contain the essential information about our work in 80 countries worldwide set out in the following pages; this data protection declaration applies to all these pages:

We assure you that your data will be treated in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations and that we will take all necessary technical and organisational measures to comply with data protection. We will collect, process and store your personal data exclusively for the processing of inquiries and, if necessary, for the processing of orders/contracts, as well as for the administration of donations. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, wherever possible it will be done on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. We would like to point out however, that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection against access by third parties during the transmission of data via the Internet is therefore not possible.

Data protection

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this data protection declaration.

The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, wherever possible this is done on a voluntary basis. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Regarding your rights

The data protection regulations provide for various rights for those concerned:

Right to information: You have the right to free information about your personal data stored by DMG, its origin, transferability and the receiver, as well as about the purpose of the data use.

Right of objection: You have the right to withdraw your consent for DMG to use your data at any future date. Please use the following e-mail address to send us your objection:

Rights over my data: You have the right to have your personal data corrected, blocked or deleted.

Right of appeal: Anyone who believes that their rights have been infringed during the collection, processing or use of their personal data may contact the relevant data protection authority. It will investigate the complaint and inform the party concerned of the result.

Extent of the processing of personal data

As DMG, we only process the personal data of our users insofar as this is necessary to provide a functional website, contents and services. The processing of personal data of our users takes place normally only after consent of the user. An exception applies in those cases where, for genuine reasons, prior consent cannot be obtained and where processing of the data is permitted by law.

Legal basis for the processing of personal data

In the case of consent, Art. 6 para. 1a GDPR is the legal basis for the processing of personal data, and Art. 6 para. 1b GDPR is the legal basis in order to fulfil a contract. This also applies to processing that is necessary to carry out pre-contractual steps. In order to fulfil a legal obligation, if we should be subject to this, Art. 6 para. 1c GDPR serves as the legal basis. If the vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, this shall be done in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1d GDPR. In the case of processing to safeguard a legitimate interest of our non-profit association, where the legitimate interest of the person concerned may not exceed the interest of the person responsible, Art. 6 para. 1f GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Data deletion and storage time

The personal data of the person concerned will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply. Furthermore, data may be stored if this has been stipulated by the European or national legislator in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the person responsible is subject. The data will also be blocked or deleted if a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned standards expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data for the conclusion or fulfilment of a contract.

Description and extent of data processing

Every time you visit our website, our system automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the calling computer. The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable the website to be delivered to the user's computer. For this the IP address of the user must remain stored for the duration of the session. The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of the collection of data for the provision of the website, it will be deleted when the respective session has ended.

This data cannot be assigned to specific individuals. This data is not combined with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data subsequently if we become aware of concrete indications of illegal use.

Integration of third-party services and content

It may happen that third party content, for example videos on YouTube, maps from Google Maps, magazines and flyers as Yumpu embeds or graphics from other websites are integrated within our website. This always requires that the providers of this content use the IP address of the user, since without the IP address no content can be sent to the user's browser. We make every effort to include only content from third party providers that use IP addresses solely for the purpose of delivering the content. However, we have no influence on whether third-party providers store IP addresses for statistical purposes, for example. In the following sections we will explain it to users, to the extent that we are aware of it.

The same applies if you search for and install our app directly from your smartphone in the appstores. The technical operation of our Tobit.software smartphone app is based on chayns®. Donate for online purchase

Educational donors:
DMG uses Bildungsspender.de for fundraising on the Internet. For this reason, there are links in our pages which take you to "Bildungsspender" and from there you can purchase in many online shops; at the same time DMG receives financial support. We also use a free online donation form and a charity SMS service from "Bildungsspender". "Bildungsspender" is a charitable, non-profit organisation and, according to its own statements, attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. They treat it confidentially in compliance with current legislation and do not pass it on to third parties without your consent. Here is the privacy policy of education donors: www.bildungsspender.de/dmg/datenschutzerklaerung

SSL-encoding

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests you send to us as a site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Right to information, deletion, blocking

You have the right to free information about your personal data stored with us, its origin and recipients and the purpose of data processing at any time and a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data. If you have any questions about the use of your data or no longer agree, please contact us. The data will then no longer be used. We will comply with requests for deletion, blocking or modification at short notice, unless this is contrary to statutory or other mandatory provisions. Please note that we are legally obliged to store your donor data (name, address, bank details, date and amount of donation) for a little over ten years. DMG collects and uses the personal data that you provide us with a donation. We use this information to process the donation, to issue you a donation confirmation, to answer your questions and, if necessary, to inform you about our work and current projects in writing or electronically, provided you have given us your consent.

If you have any questions about DMG handling of your personal data, please contact us at the address given below.

Post by E-mail

DMG has been offering its donors the following services since the fall of 2021:

• a donation receipt in digital form via e-mail as a PDF file.
• donation thank-you letters in digital form as an e-mail.

The donor voluntarily opts for these services and can revoke them at any time. DMG also draws attention to the fact that data sent in e-mail correspondence can in principle be intercepted and read by third parties. In particular, there is a risk that the content of the donation confirmation could become known and used by unauthorized third parties. DMG takes care to protect donor data, but does not use any additional encryption technology beyond the provider's encryption when sending the donation confirmation and the thank-you letter in order to enable uncomplicated receipt by donors.
