Autumn Mission Festival 2019
A festival for the whole family with special guest, Bishop Kokole from the Congo
September 22: Who’s in your blind spot?
Someone in your blind spot is easily overlooked. Not only in traffic. Every society has blind spots and it’s people that suffer. The Christian mission and relief organization, DMG, will address this issue at the Autumn Mission Festival on September 22, 2019 at the Buchenauerhof near Sinsheim. Our theme: "Who’s in your blind spot?".
The message, "The invisible neighbour" will be given by Pastor Günther Beck, Mission Director, in the festive service at 10 am. In the afternoon, Middle East expert Dr. Robert Miner will speak on the topic: "The People groups in focus". The Aidlingen choir, conducted by Kerstin Pfeiffer, will accompany the Autumn Mission Festival musically. Special guest is Pastor Jean-Pierre Kokole, President of the one million member CECA20 church, a long-standing partner of the DMG in Africa.

"Every driver of a car or a truck is familiar with the blind spot. How quickly a fatal accident can occur if a cyclist is overlooked when turning," says Detlef Garbers from DMG Public Relations, explaining the theme of the Autumn Mission Festival. In a figurative sense, society also overlooks many people: senior citizens, the sick, the poor, fringe groups or simply the unknown neighbour. Christian churches ought to have all people in view. This includes even scientists in ethically sensitive areas such as nuclear research or genetic engineering, who are too often left alone with their questions. DMG consciously wants to look at people in the blind spot in order to give them holistic hope and help, explained Garbers.
Parallel children and youth program. The Aidlinger Choir under the direction of Kerstin Pfeiffer will accompany the Autumn mission festival musically.
The work of some of our 350 DMG missionaries in 80 countries worldwide and their projects will be presented in the exhibition. Guests can talk to the Missionaries in person and get to know DMG's Partner Organizations. In the morning there will be a special service for the youth by the Lichthaus team, and in the afternoon the Kretschmers will share their experiences from their work with children and young people in Tirana, the capital of Albania. At the Children's Mission Festival, everyone will go to Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun, with " Kids Team ", the childrens' work branch of the DMG. No doubt about it: The Autumn Mission Festival will be a celebration for the whole family. Message, music, meals … what more could you want! See you there!
