DMG exists to honour God and tell the whole world how great He is. God has worked exceedingly throughout history; all the same He seeks our help in blessing the nations. He asks us to humbly live out every aspect of His love in word and deed and boldly proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ in a hurting world. In inviting people to be reconciled with the living God we hope they will experience a personal and life transforming encounter with Jesus Christ.

DMG presently employs 350 long and medium-term workers in over 70 countries worldwide. Each year up to 60 workers take part in the short-term programme, as well as a number of experts in the DMG Expert and 50+ programs. Founded in 1951, the organisation looks back on many years of experience in intercultural learning and international operations. It is committed to maintaining a sustainable and integral development of people, resources and the environment. DMG works on the Basis of Faith of the German Evangelical Alliance and is a member of AEM (Association of Evangelical Missions).

Caring for people
In 2012, DMG provided famine relief to children in Kenya.

At DMG we give "hands-on” help: street children and AIDS orphans receive a home. Clinics are set up, the sick receive medical and pastoral care, the disabled and the deaf are given an education. People in remote areas benefit from the care of village health workers. Refugees and immigrants find help. Children and young people in poor neighbourhoods receive education and vocational training. Remote villages are supplied with electric power. In dry areas wells are dug and in areas of famine food and seed are distributed and much, much more. In so many ways we express God's love to people in need.

No holding back!

We seek to live out the gospel in word and deed. God has made our lives rich. Our desire is to share this wealth with others. We see ourselves called by God to serve and wish to honour Him with our whole life. As ambassadors of God’s love we help by attending the need of the body, the soul and the spirit. DMG workers serve as lecturers, theology teachers, counsellors, pastors, youth workers and staff of local churches. Knowing that human life is more than just food and clothing we are convinced everyone should be able to live in the dignity that God has purposed...

DMG stands for a network of global partnerships. Our workers are at home in a wide range of Protestant free churches and communities and are sent on an international assignment by their churches. Abroad each worker operates within the framework of local organisations, associations, charitable works and local churches with which DMG has a co-operation agreement. They become members of the partner team and serve under the name of the organisation. An important objective is to strengthen the local community, working in partnership with them and gradually transferring responsibility. Co-operation is based on mutual trust and respect; it is effective as many tasks can be accomplished better in a joint venture.

Living faith

We aim to express our faith in Jesus in everyday life

God, the giver of life, desires to live in a personal trust relationship with every single person. Christians see this as the foundation, goal, purpose and fulfilment in the life of each human being. We put our trust in Jesus Christ and understand the Bible as good news: God's ‘love letter’ to us humans. Jesus’ final words to his followers (Matthew 28:18-20) are our motivation and commitment. Our faith is expressed by standing side by side with people worldwide, helping them and sharing in their daily life. The Christian faith needs hands and feet. The countless requests we receive to send more workers emphasises the ongoing need. Many job vacancies are available through our partners.

Projects

Our most valued resource is our highly motivated work force; professionals serving around the globe. Their presence demonstrates God's mercy in an active and cost effective way. The crucial factor is the living example. Sustainable projects need supervision on the ground by a personal coach. Our projects, such as “Care for Aids Patients”, would be unthinkable without the dedication of skilled experts and local employees.
